TEACHER INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT / PERMANENT SUBSTITUTE

St. Agnes Catholic Academy — Key Biscayne, FL

St. Agnes Catholic Academy is seeking a Teacher Instructional Assistant / Permanent Substitute to join our faith-filled school community for the 2026–27 school year. This role supports classroom teachers in delivering an engaging, faith-centered education while helping create a safe, nurturing environment for our students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instruction, small group support, and daily classroom activities

• Supervise students throughout the school day, including recess, lunch, and transitions between settings

• Serve as a permanent substitute teacher when a classroom teacher is absent, following approved lesson plans

• Prepare instructional materials and help maintain an organized, orderly classroom

• Reinforce school policies, safety procedures, and Catholic values in all interactions with students

• Communicate student needs, progress, and concerns to the classroom teacher

• Model the mission and values of St. Agnes Catholic Academy and the Archdiocese of Miami in word and example

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education preferred

• Prior experience in a classroom or Catholic school setting preferred

• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

• Comfortable using instructional technology in the classroom

• Supportive and respectful of the mission and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church

Must complete the Archdiocese of Miami's criminal background screening and Virtus Safe Environment Training prior to hire, and a Florida Care Provider background screening as a condition of employment
