5th Grade Explores the Origins of Film 🎞️
5th graders are beginning their Movie Music unit with Ms. Miller by exploring the very beginnings of film!
Students created a thaumatrope, a simple device that combines two still images into one when spun. Through this hands-on activity, they learned about the perception of vision—how our brains retain an image for a brief moment even after it disappears, and discovered how this concept laid the foundation for motion pictures.
A fascinating blend of science, art, and history in action!
