5th Grade Brings Food Chains to Life

5th grade class built food chain models using recycled materials.

Students learned and applied the vocabulary words producer, consumer, decomposer, niche, and environment while exploring how energy flows through ecosystems. They also learned about the movement of matter and energy, how the components of an ecosystem interact, and how living things depend on one another through important relationships within an ecosystem. This project helped students understand how each role is important for a healthy environment and appreciate the responsibility we have to care for God’s creation.
