Our young artists are exploring shapes, one of the basic elements of art! In class, students are learning to spot circles, squares, triangles, and free-flowing shapes, and to see how artists combine them to build a whole picture.
Leading the way is our teacher, artist Sonia Delaunay, famous for her bold, colorful works filled with circles and geometric shapes. She believed art belonged everywhere, and she brought her designs to paintings, fabrics, clothing, and more. Inspired by her style, our students are layering bright shapes and colors in their own creations, and the results are full of energy and joy.
